Barbara Lou (Williamson) Bartrom, 86, of Wabash, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at 5:01 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor East, Wabash, IN, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Bartrom was born on September 21, 1931, in Warsaw, IN, to David and Dorothy (Veilhauer) Williamson. Her parents preceded her in death. Barbara married Mark Bartrom on March 29, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN; he survives and resides in Wabash, IN.
Barbara was a homemaker and loved God and family above all. She enjoyed being a hostess, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Rosary Sodality, and St. Vincent DePaul Society and served the homebound.
Along with her husband, Barbara is survived by one son, Bret A. (Sylvia) Bartrom, Anchorage, AK; one daughter, Kimberly A. Pinkerton, Wabash, IN; one brother, Robert G. Williamson, Columbus, OH; four sisters, Josephine (Kenny) Koontz, IN, Margaret Oakes, AR, Mary Sloane, IN, Sue (Sam) Manning, IN; grandchildren, Daniel, Aaron, Rachel, April, Barbara, Elizabeth, Matthew, Craig, Michelle, Anna, Jeremy, Jeff, Christopher, Steven, Johnathon, Jennifer, James Brandon, Alyssa, Theresa, several great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Williamson, NE.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by four sons, Howard J. Bartrom, Steven W. Bartrom, Daniel W. Bartrom, Baby Bartrom; four brothers and two sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 21, prior to calling hours at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750, with Fr. Stephen Colchin presiding.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date in Huntington, IN.
