Barbara Jean Preston, 83, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 4:58 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2019 at her home. She was born December 3, 1935 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Ed and Christine (Bailey) Hampton.
Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Meade Memorial High School. She married Lyman Joe Preston in Paintsville on December 25, 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Wabash. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family and her church family were most important in her life.
She is survived by her husband, Lyman Joe Preston of Wabash, two daughters, Diana (David) Tucker of Freeport, Florida, and Kimberly (Steve) Edris of Huntington, Indiana, and two grandchildren, Trevor (Emily) Edris of Atlanta, Georgia, and Hannah Edris of West Palm Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastors Lou Hunt and Terry Martin officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
