MIAMI COUNTY, IN- The City of Peru, the United Way of Miami County, IU Bloomington, and Antonia Sawyer have been awarded a $5,000.00 grant to focus on the anti-stigma of substance abuse within our community. They have been working over the past few weeks to perfect their concept of “INSpire Miami County”. A stop the shame, anti-stigma campaign that will be mirrored off of the “Humans of New York” project. This specific project will be an artistic expression of how opioids have affected our community, through photographs and interviews. “INSpire Miami County” is looking for 30 participants to tell their story about how substance abuse has affected their lives. As participants, all stories and photographs can be anonymous and any/all names and or faces can be withheld.
