Barbara J. Foland, 89, Gas City, passed away in her home on Monday, March 29, 2021. She was born in Madison County, Indiana, on July 11, 1931, to Chester and Katherine (Waymire) Ohler. On October 8, 1950, she married Donald L. Foland and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2020.
Barbara graduated from Alexandria High School. She was a mom and grandma and worked for 20 years for Marion Federal Savings and Loan. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needle crafts, and enjoyed watching Purdue and the Polka channel. Service to her church, family, and friends was a big part of her life.
Survivors include her daughters, Donnetta (Larry) Robinson of Mishawaka, Peggy (Bob) Lazard of Indianapolis, Melanie (David) Rennaker of Marion, and Sheila (Randy) Ott of Fairmount; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Katherine Ohler.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner- Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Barbara’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
