Barbara Hobbs, 89, of Gas City, passed away at 3:34 pm on Monday, October 3, 2022. She was born in Alexandria, Indiana, on Tuesday, January 10, 1933, to Otto and Edna (Mittendorf) Pherson.
Barbara graduated from Alexandria High School and worked at RCA for 35 years. She was a longtime member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church and Hillside Wesleyan Church. Barbara was an avid gardener and loved to draw and paint-a true artist. She prided herself in being a professional thrifter and rummage sale connoisseur. She also loved to dress in the latest fashions! Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her children and grand children..
Barbara is survived by her children, Lynn Porter of Temple, TX, Steve (Debra) Blunk of Marion, Alan (Holly) Blunk of Fishers, Don Blunk of Pasadena, CA, Kara P. Hobbs of Gas City, Nathaniel (Melissa) Hobbs of Gas City, Reanne A. Hobbs of Marion; sisters, Virginia Mattingly, Annetta (Ted) Montgomery; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as best friend, Sandra Eads.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Edna Pherson; first husband, Willis Blunk; husband, Noble Dale Hobbs, Jr.; sister, Mary Hampton; and brothers, Ralph Pherson, and Donald Pherson.
The family will have a private graveside service to celebrate Barbara’s life at a later date.
