Barbara Bridges, 76, went to her heavenly home on April 12, 2023 at Marion General Hospital. Barbara was born to Evelyn Marie and Robert L. Bridges Sr., in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on January 14, 1947. She graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1965.
Barbara had a passion for working with youth in social services. She began her career in Cincinnati working at Hillcrest and Mt. St. Joseph group homes. She relocated to Marion and worked in Muncie and then Kokomo working with troubled youth. Her last job before retiring was with Family Service Society in Marion.
She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter, Marie Bridges Streck of Kentucky; brother, Robert Bridges Jr. of North Vernon, Indiana; granddaughter, Ashley (Nathan) Tobin; great-granddaughter, Lilly Tobin; nieces, Tammy (Bill) Soder, Stephanie (Mark) Cloud, and Robin (Brent) Caudill; nephews, Denny (Michelle) Bridges, Bobby (Kay-Kay) Bridges and Steven Palmer; and best friend and care giver, Darlyne Bridgeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Bud Tipton; son-in-law, Mike Streck; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Bridges.
Honoring Barbara’s wishes, she was cremated. There will be no services. Darlene would like to thank all of her friends who helped with Barb’s care.
