Another Crash on 31 injures 3

MIAMI COUNTY – A crash involving 3 semis on US 31 Tuesday night left two drivers and one passenger with serious injuries. Timothy Buschert, 55, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was traveling south on US 31 in a 2006 Freightliner semi around 9:15 PM when he failed to stop at the automatic signal at the intersection of Indiana 18, according to a sheriff’s report. Buschert traveled through the intersection and struct the cab of a semi driver west on Indiana 18 operated by Austin Forrester, 22, of Hartford City. Buschert’s semi then struck an eastbound semi operated by Anthony link, 29, of Portland. All three vehicles came to rest in the intersection after the crash. Buschert was airlifted from the scene to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for neck and head injuries. He was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon. Forrester was transported to Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru where he was later released. A female passenger in Forrester’s semi Sierra Courtney, 18, of Marion, was transported to Dukes Memorial Hospital for neck and head pain. Link was not injured during the crash.
