Anita (Walker) Alvarado, 74, passed away on Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Aperion Assisted Living Estate, Peru, Indiana.
Anita’s parents were Hillard and Pearl (Poor) Walker of Santa Fe, Indiana. She married Joseph R. Alvarado on June 20th, 1997. She was step-mother to Joseph’s children and grandmother to his grandchildren. Anita worked over 20 years for Husskee Harlins Furniture Manufacturing in the Tufting Department, in Peru, Indiana, and she retired from Electro-Nite, also in Peru.
Anita is survived by her step-children, step-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gene of Santa Fa, George of La Fontaine, and Max Walker of Santa Fe, sisters Irma Sparks of Peru, and Barbara Ventura of Peru.
Anita enjoyed watching “Little House on the Prairie” for hours on her TV, and in her younger years playing euchre with family and friends.
I was privileged and honored to call her my Aunt, and I am missing her dearly and loved her very much.
Visitation will be held Monday October 1, 2018 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Flowers-Leedy funeral home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.
