Alicia Contreras

Alicia Contreras, 61, Marion, passed away at 1:45 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Laredo, Texas, on Saturday, July 16, 1960, to Jose and Elena (Rodriguez) Rangel. On November 23, 1977, she married Richard Contreras, and he survives.

Alicia graduated from Marion High School and was a homemaker. She was very loving and cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, and her husband. She was a very admirable, well-respected, and amazingly strong woman and mother. She was so inspiring to her family and was always there for anyone. She was a strong believer in God and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Alicia collected a lot of Pioneer Woman memorabilia. She was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts. Alicia was also a wonderful cook. There was nothing that she couldn’t cook. She loved her Wi-Fi, her fan, and horses. Her favorite movies were “Pretty Woman” and “Titanic”.

In addition to her loving husband of 44 years, survivors include her mother, Elena Rangel; sons, Richard Contreras, Jr., Omar (Tanya) Contreras, and Eliseo “Lee” Contreras; daughters, April Contreras and Angelica (Braden) Contreras; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jesse Rangel and Rick Rangel; sisters, Lydia Lines and Brenda McManis; sister-in-law, Susie (Kevin) Smith; and brother-in-law, Michael Contreras.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Rangel; sister, Susie Small; brother-in-law, Ray Contreras; and father-in-law, Mike V. (Esperanza) Contreras, Sr.

There will be no visitation or funeral service for Alicia.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
