Alfred S. Beitler Sr., 93, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 5:25 PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Chalet Village Health & Rehabilitation in Berne, IN. He was born on Thursday, December 04, 1924, in Berne, IN. He married Edith Clouse on Monday, November 03, 1947 in Geneva, IN, she preceded him in death on December 29, 2006. Alfred attended the Old Yager and Geneva schools. He had worked at the Tile Mill in Decatur, IN, Decatur Foundry, Central Soy, Decatur, IN, and retired in 1990 after 18 years of service from Dolco Packaging. Alfred was a care taker of the West Lawn cemetery for forty years. He was a member of the Geneva First United Methodist church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Loving Survivors Include his Sons – Alfred Beitler, Jr., Berne, IN, David Beitler, Berne, IN, Daughter – Kay (Douglas) Lewis, Portland, IN, Grandsons- Joey Shull, Douglas Beitler, & Michael Beitler, and several Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Fred Beitler, Mother – Ida (Bailey) Beitler, Wife – Edith (Clouse) Beitler, and Daughter – Connie Straley.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N. Washington St. Geneva, IN. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. and one hour prior to service on Wednesday. August 29, 2018.
A service to celebrate Alfred’s life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 with Rev. Roy Nevil officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
