Agnes Wheeler passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, at the age of 85 in Marion, Indiana. She was born on August 4, 1938, in Harlan, Kentucky, to her parents, Crit and Ada Perry.
Agnes had a warm and humorous personality that endeared her to everyone she met. She cherished spending time with her friends and family, and she loved watching baseball and the Colts.
Agnes and Bob fulfilled their dream of owning and managing Turtle Creek Harbor in Florence, Indiana, where she was lovingly referred to as Miss Aggie. For 30 years, they worked side by side, creating a haven for boating enthusiasts and building a tight-knit community of friends.
Agnes was married to the love of her life, Robert Wheeler, for 50 years before his passing on October 7, 2021. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with devotion, companionship, and unwavering love.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; brothers, Ed and Ansel Perry; and sister, Bobbie Jean.
Agnes will be deeply missed by her surviving family, including her siblings and identical twin, Loraine Tarrant, Roger Perry, Diane Adler, and Linda Bishop, and her children, Kathy Black (Ron Storer), Donna (George) Bridenthal, Tammy Bragg (Fred Long), Carolyn (Mike) Carter, and Perry (Lori) Maggard. Agnes was also a proud grandmother to Amy (Ty) Silverthorne, Jamie (Niko) William, Christy (Mike) Bortone, Adrienne Fillenworth, Brittany (Zac) Pelz, Megan (David) Cole, Tyler (Tisha) Bridenthal, Jessica Nelson, and Kayla Maggard. She also had the joy of being a great-grandmother of 19 and a great-great-grandmother to one precious grandson.
A private service was held to honor and celebrate Agnes’ life, surrounded by her loving family.
