Adeline Pauline Martin

Adeline Pauline Martin, age 100, of Huntington, died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, with rosary service immediately following at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, with Father Tony Steinacker officiating. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.

Preferred memorials are memorial masses to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Adeline was born on July 20, 1917 in Huntington, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Herberg) Ritter. She married Eldon P. “Tony” Martin on November 28, 1942 in Huntington; he preceded her in death on December 4, 1978. She was a lifelong member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Parish. Her faith and family were the center of her life. She prayed the rosary daily and walked to mass every Tuesday and Thursday night. She loved playing golf with her husband and friends and enjoyed dancing the Charleston. She worked at Our Sunday Visitor for 50 years. After she retired, she volunteered five days a week at the Ramblin’ Rose Consignment Shop. Its proceeds went to Huntington Catholic School.

Survivors include her daughter, Edward’s twin, Myra (Dan) Bickel of Huntington, Edward’s companion, Pat Meyers of Fort Wayne, grandchildren Terri (Larry) Bonbrake, Edward Martin Jr., Tony (Tonya) Martin, Danielle (Harold) Albertson, April (Kevin) VanBrocklin, Austin (Alicia) Martin, and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Edward Martin, and siblings Robert (Lela) Ritter, Betty (Herm) Holzinger, and Vickie (Bill) Christman.
