Susan M. Creech, 61, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation in Wabash. She was born in Marion to Robert and Lela (Berry) Hedrick. Susan married Steven Michael Creech on October 28, 1988, and he survives.
Susan worked as a laundry attendant at Marion General Hospital until she became disabled. She had previously worked at Berry’s Cozy Corner in Gas City. Susan loved the Lord and made Sunnycrest Baptist her home church. She was the pianist and soprano for a vocal group, Heaven’s Echoes, for many years.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Cristie (Mike) Horn, Fairmount, and Debra (Jason) Gillespie, Marion; sisters, Linda (Joe) Beckham, Marion, and Sharon (Charlie) Fetterhoff, Gas City; four grandchildren, Jordan, Jaden, and Destiny Gillespie, and Sabra Ricketts; and nieces and nephews, Charles and Melissa Fetterhoff, and David Newton.
Preceding her in death were her parents and grandson, Christopher Mohan.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at V.A. Protestant Chapel, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion. Services will begin at 12 noon with Pastors Troy Bishop and Jim Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery.
