Rosalie Peterson, 86, Converse, died at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016, at North Woods Village. She was born in Madison County, IN, to Ralph and Vada (Cuthrell) Peterson.

She is survived by her sisters, Wanda Packard, Sims, and Jo Ann (Phil) McGhee, Sims; brother-in-law, Russell Ware, Marion; nieces, Teresa (Louie) Miller, Denver, Sherri White, Van Nuys, CA, and Julie Clark, Sims; nephews, Tom (Lois) Riser, Kokomo, Steven (Mary) Packard, Palmdale, CA, and Jimmie Hogan, LaFontaine; great-nephews, Alex Packard, Cory Clark, and Dustin Rose; and great-niece, Violet White.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Riser, Lois Ware, and Kathleen Peterson; brothers-in-law, Art Riser, and Russel Packard; and nephew, Rod Roach.

Rosy graduated from Swayzee High School in 1947. She graduated from State Beauty School in Ft. Wayne in 1947. Rosy worked at Nestle Beauty Shop in the Union Bank Building in Kokomo. She also worked at Sommers Office Supply, Summe Accounting, T-Way, and Beauty Supply in Kokomo. Rosy retired from Special Olympics State Office in Indianapolis.

Rosy was a member of ABWA and held several offices. She also volunteered for Special Olympics for several years. Rosy was kind, caring, hard working, determined, and punctual. If she was your friend, she was your friend for life. She was a talented seamstress and did excellent needle work. Her many interests included, bowling, ball room dancing, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, collecting matchbooks, keychains, light houses, animal figurines, and small villages. Rosy loved watching old movies, the Colts, IU basketball and her Cubbies. She traveled to every state except Hawaii. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Normal, IN.

Rosy loved going to church, her Gaslight family in Converse, IN, her family and especially her “Sister Days”.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Ed Bridegroom officiating. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery.
