Roland “Ron” D. Bogear

Roland “Ron” D. Bogear, 83, of Greensburg, Indiana entered the presence of his Savior May 13, 2017.  Born July 22, 1933 in Garrett, Indiana, he was the son of the late Cecil and Helen Bogear.  Soon after graduating from ,Huntington High School he married Lois Irene Soultz, the love of his life, on June 6, 1952.  Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Lois In September 2010, and sisters, Mary Hasty, Barbara Bogear, Beatrice Randall, and infant brother Royce.

Ron considered his work at Wesley Press his life ministry for over 35 years.   He and Lois were faithful to raise their boys at Main Street Wesleyan where he was a member for 65 years. He enjoyed Christian Campers and volunteering at Indiana Wesleyan University; but the times that brought him the most joy was being with his family. Each morning found him praying for his family by name and enjoying quiet times with the Lord.  Ron and Lois always had a heart for missions and the work at Hephzibah Children’s Home.

 

He is survived by his three loving sons and daughters-in-law, David and (Beverley) Bogear, Lancaster, OH, Philip and (Brenda) Bogear, Greensburg, IN, James and (Jerolyn) Bogear, Sacramento, CA.; six grandchildren, Amy (Mitchell) Noland, Aubrey (Daniel) Neeley, Abigail (Andy) Donaldson, Lauren (Christopher) Snider,  Shaphan (Haley) Bogear and Gabrielle Bogear;  and eight great-grandchildren, Chase and Campbell Noland, Evelyn and Lindiwe Neeley, Morgan and Collin Donaldson, Adelyn and Elliet Snider.  Ron is also survived by a sister Marilyn (James) Fowler, Silver Lake, IN, a brother Richard Bogear, Huntington, IN.

Memorials may be made to Main Street Wesleyan Church, Jonesboro, IN or the Hephzibah Children’s Home, Macon, GA.

Funeral Services for Ron will be 12:00 PM Friday May 19, 2017 at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services Fairmount Chapel, 415 S. Main St. Fairmount, Indiana with Nephew Rev. Alexander P. Soultz and Grandson Rev. Shaphan Bogear officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.  The family will receive family and friends 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
