Robert Wayne Butt, 87, Macy, passed away at 5:24 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.
Born February 27, 1929, in Miami County, Indiana, he was the son of Walker Marvin and Marjorie Elizabeth Bishop Butt. On June 17, 1951, at the United Methodist Parsonage in Denver, Indiana, he was married to Mary Lou Conner, and she survives.
He was a member of the Macy Christian Church and the YMCA Carriage Club. He was a 1947 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and retired from Square D Corporation in Peru. He was also a farmer in Miami County for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Butt, Macy; four children, Betty Jane (Steve) Zoelzer, Shelbyville; William Robert (Elizabeth) Butt, Macy; Patricia Ann (Brent) DeMien, Macy; and Marcia Jo (Rick) Rogers, Rochester; seven grandchildren, Brenda (Alan) Lentz, Evansville; James (Ashley Couch) LaChance, Land O’ Lakes, Florida; Maureen (Jason) Bohanon, Springfield, MO; Ryan (Megan) DeMien, Macy; Loren (Joni) DeMien, Ft. Wayne; David Rogers, Rochester; and Gabriel (Carrie) Rogers, Rochester; five great-grandchildren, Bethany and Rebekah Lentz, Evansville; Conner Bohanon, Springfield, MO; and Tenley and Emersyn DeMien, Macy; one brother, Kenneth M. Butt, Peru; and one sister, Martha E. Snyder, Converse; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Barbara Jean Butt; and one brother, Richard Butt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Doug Emberton and Pastor David Welsh officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
