Robert W. Rude, 88, Marion, died at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Marion. He was born in Marion on April 1, 1929, a son of Anna L. Rude. He was a 1948 graduate of Marion High School and married Mary E. Dyer on November 11, 1983. She preceded him in death.
Robert was a production worker at SCM Manufacturing in Marion for 44 years. He was a US Army veteran and served in the Korean War. Robert enjoyed bowling and photography.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda (Mark) Sayre, Alexandria; 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and cousin, Sally Jo Greenlee, Elwood.
In addition to his mother, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Rude.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN. A funeral service for Robert will be held at 1 p.m. immediately following the visitation on Wednesday with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park.
