Robert LeRoyce “Royce” Kirby, II

Robert LeRoyce “Royce” Kirby, II, 21, Marion, passed away in a car accident on January 2, 2018.  He was born in Marion on October 6, 1996, to Daniel Ray Walker and Gretchen L. Kirby Smith. He was engaged to fiancé, Cierra Hawkins.

Royce was a 2015 graduate of Madison-Grant High School.  He began working at American Woodmark in Gas City prior to his employment at ResCare in Marion, where he worked as direct support, in home healthcare.  Royce was an excellent caregiver with a huge heart and this helped him tremendously with his job there.   He was a 2nd degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and liked watching anime.  Royce also enjoyed reading, playing video games, and writing rap songs.  He attended 7th Day Adventist Church.

He will be missed by his loving parents and the two following who stepped up when his parents could not, Megan Renee (Andrew) Bishop; step-parents, Samantha Sessoms, Tammy Cox, and Russel D. Cox, Sr.; grandparents, Robert LeRoyce Kirby, Georgia E. Kirby, Dorothy Walker, and Raymond Walker, Jr.; great-grandmother, Lois Smith; siblings, Gabrielle Renee Kirby, Marion, Trinnity Donae Stith, Anderson, Mychelle Danyelle Walker, Gas City, Nason Daniel Walker, Gas City, Jayden D. Sloniker Walker, Fort Wayne, Da-Rayah K. Walker, Marion, Tiffany Kelly, Marion, Russell D. Cox, II, Marion, Rajzonae Cox, Hobart, Ti Cox, Marion, Dezmond Cox, Marion, Gabriel Watkins, Marion, Malachi Watkins, Marion, and Afton Cox, Marion; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Royce’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, with Pastor Steve Colter and Pastor Matthew Hasty officiating.
