Renewable Energy Systems Considering Construction of Indiana Turbine Wind Farm

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – UK-based developer Renewable Energy Systems (RES) is considering the construction of an up to 150-turbine wind farm in Indiana, the Pharos-Tribune said on Wednesday, citing a company official. The project will see the installation of turbines in the state’s Cass, Fulton and Miami counties. Currently, the developer is looking for sites in several townships in northern Cass County, RES’ development director Brad Lila told the newspaper. According to Lila, it is still not known how many turbines will be positioned in each of the Adams, Bethlehem, Boone and Harrison townships as the project is now in the early development stage. The turbines that will eventually be installed will be about 600-ft (183m) tall, but a particular turbine model has not been selected yet, Lila was cited as saying. RES has 12 GW of renewable energy assets in its portfolio, including mainly wind and solar. It also owns energy storage and power distribution facilities, according to its website.
