Peggy June Learned, 57, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:40 pm, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Parkview Wabash Hospital. She was born October 6, 1958 in Anderson, Indiana to Virgil and Mary Ann (Shrock) McCord.
Peggy was a 1977 graduate of Northfield High School. She married Michael Learned on July 9, 1977 in Wabash. She worked for GDX in Wabash for more than 20 years, until its closing in 2008. She was a bingo caller at the Wabash Elks Lodge for 15 years and enjoyed camping.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Learned; two children, Michael Learned Jr. and Chasity (Andrew Leach) Learned; and four grandchildren, Nickie Learned, Nora Sammons, Andrew Leach Jr. and Miah Leach, all of Wabash; sisters and brothers, Hazel Carpenter of Wabash, Charlie (Brenda) McCord of Warren, Indiana, Ernest (Phyllis) McCord of Peru, Indiana, Frank (Cathy) McCord of Detroit, Michigan, Virgil (Della) McCord and Howard Wagner, both of Anderson, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday August 15, 2016 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 1-2 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is to the family to help with expenses.
