Norma Jean Zody, 82, of Amboy, passed away at 2:07 A.M., Monday, August 15, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born in Miami County on March 3, 1934 the daughter of Warren and Blanche Gordon Wininger. Norma married Meredith Eugene “Bud” Zody on August 4, 1972 and he survives. Norma was a 1953 Clay High School graduate and retired from Delco. Never meeting a stranger, Norma was a friend or mother to almost everybody she met. Surviving in addition to her husband Bud, are her children Stephen Walker and his wife Robin of Avon, IN; Terry Henson and her husband Michael of Kokomo, IN; Susan Triplett and her husband Chuck of Peru, IN; Dale Walker and his wife Peggy of Huntington, IN; Lisa Flatford and her husband Gary of Cartersville, GA; Jeannie Flatford and her husband Scott of Converse, IN; Nancy West and her husband Gary of Kokomo, IN; daughter-in-law Millie Zody of Kokomo, IN; special niece Patty Beeler and her husband Bill; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a special cat Sugar. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Junior Zody, two sisters, Juanita and Betty and two brothers Fred and Charlie. A service celebrating the life of Norma Jean Zody will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, IN with Rev. John Haines officiating. Burial will follow at the Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
