Naomi Elizabeth Glassburn, 97, formerly of Huntington County, Fairmount, and Brooksville, Florida, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior at 10:22 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Elmer, Louisiana. Born on October 7, 1918, in Converse, to the late William Irvin and Luella (Pickett) Tilden. She married Roy E. Glassburn in February of 1939. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1991.

Naomi was a member of the Wesleyan Church. She worked alongside her husband on the Fairmount Camp Grounds for 13 years, where they served as caretakers. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers of Indiana. Every place they lived, Naomi found a place to share her love for cooking; the Huntington Hospital, Fairmount School and Brooksville Village in Florida.

Naomi is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Norman R. (Sally) Glassburn, North Webster; daughters, Mary Lou (Earl) Nash, Elmer, Louisiana, and Marilyn J. Johns, Greentown.

She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Beth (Terry) Buhler, Georgetown, Kentucky, Jeff Glassburn, Jonesboro, Amy Jo Johns Alexander, Richard (Jeanne) Nash, Denham Springs, Louisiana, Pamela Johns Lamb, Tipton, Rachelle (Avery) Carlock, Hineston, Louisiana, Mike (Janet) Glassburn, Hartford City, Anna (James) Bowser Yoder, Elkhart.

17 great-grandchildren, Marvin Jeffrey Glassburn, Emmelyn Alexander, Elijah Robert Alexander, Laken Crockett and Alexandra Nash, Zachary, Allison, Kendall, Kameron Buhler, Morgan and Nathan Carlock, Aaron Bowser, Amanda (Brian) Roberts, and Andrew (Elizabeth) Johns, Caleb Everling, Jordan Everling and Malachi Everling.

5 great-great grandchildren, Hailey Marie Bowser, Hudson Ray Bowser, Alivia Catherine Roberts, Amera Elizabeth Johns and August Lee Everling.

In addition to her parents and husband, Naomi was preceded in death by her son, Marvin E. Glassburn; and a brother, Lee Tilden.

The family will receive visitors from 12 Noon to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, Indiana. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Norman E. Glassburn officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN.
