Mr. James E. Satterthwaite, 76, passed away Sunday morning at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN at 12:22 p.m., with his family around him.  Jim was born in Marion, IN., to Edwin and Pauline (Heiney) Satterthwaite on Sept. 7, 1940.  Jim spent his early life in Van Buren and later moved to Alexandria, IN.  He married Ruby (White) Satterthwaite in Gas City, IN., on August 31, 1973, she passed away April 1, 2011.  He retired after 40 years of service at Thompson Consumer in Marion.  He was also an avid fisherman all of his life and paintball was also his passion.

 

Survivors include: son-Kevin (Anetra) Satterthwaite of Huntington, IN; daughters-Kimberly (Raymond) Eccles of Van Buren, IN, Tresa Satterthwaite of Marion, IN and Kathy (Greg) Stucky of Warren, IN; sister-Arlene Smola of Fort Wayne, IN; step sons-Tony (Karen) Fields and Gary Fields of Alexandria, IN, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.

 

Jim was preceded in death by his wife-Ruby (White) Satterthwaite; parents- Edwin and Pauline (Heiney) Satterthwaite; sister-Jane Gurtner and step daughter-in-law-Melanie Fields.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street, Van Buren, IN on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, Van Buren, IN on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with pastor Scott Nedberg officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion, IN.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home.
