Mable L. Duncan, 82, Marion, died at 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born in Marion to the late Oscar and Agnes (Emery) Whelchel.
Mable retired from Marion General Hospital after 27 years of service in the housekeeping department. Prior to working at MGH, she was a housekeeper in Dr. Goldberg’s office for 10 years. Mable was known for her great work ethic, and she loved to square dance and camp.
She will be missed by her children, Ann Jackson, California, Terry Jackson, Indiana, Donna (Paul Michael) Rigsby, Texas, Kenneth (Debbie) Duncan, Marion, and Gary (Monica) Jackson, Marion; sister, Judy (Marvin) Surber, Van Buren; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Her son, John Jackson, and six brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341. N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
