Lois C. Knecht, 86, North Manchester, IN died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 8:05 a.m. in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born March 8, 1930 in Wabash, IN to Ira & Estelle (Yentes) Crist. She was Valedictorian of the Bippus High School class of 1948. On September 17, 1949 she married Galen E. Knecht. He died May 10, 2008. She was a beautician in Bippus, IN for 15 years and a homemaker. Lois was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ, Bippus, IN. She was known for her pies and chocolate chip cookies and she loved fishing in Wisconsin. She is survived by sons, Ty (Sonja) Knecht, North Manchester, IN, Terry (Joanna) Knecht, North Manchester, IN and Todd (Judy) Knecht, North Manchester, IN; daughter, Lynn (Gary) Huddleston, Wabash, IN; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. One brother, one sister and one grandson are deceased. Family and friends may call Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Service will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor Susan Beamer will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.
