Lena W. Sipes Swan, 92 of Marion, Indiana died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Healthcare and Rehab Marion, Indiana
Lena was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene Marion and was an enjoyed sewing, baking, and shopping. She had previously worked at Marion General Hospital, The Marion Cafeteria, and the Standard Grocery.
Lena was born December 17, 1924 in Shirley, Indiana and was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Johns Ware. She first married Edward L.Sipes, Sr. and later married Kenneth C. Swan who preceded her in death November 2007.
She leaves behind her children; Edward L. (Betsy) Sipes Jr, Marion, IN Maxine (Gary) Hiatt, Lagro, IN. Lynda (Marlin) Cunningham, Pflugerville, TX Leslie (Susan) Sipes, Ft. Wayne, IN Letha (Brian) Stanton, Muncie, IN and Penny (Troy) Hilton, Montplier, IN
16 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a grandson; Marcus Sipes and a Great Granddaughter, Caroline Sipes.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to College Park Chapel, Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services 4601 S. Western Ave. Marion, IN where the family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday Feb 10, 2017 The funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The First Church of the Nazarene, 700 W. Kem Road Marion, IN with calling 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or the First Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home.
