Kenneth was born in Elwood on November 18, 1942 to the late Guy H. and Violet (Ice) Detro. He passed away on January 19, 2017 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Kenneth was a graduate of high school in El Paso, Texas and later attended college. He retrired in 1998 as a supervisor with RCA. He married Charlotte Rickman on March 7, 1962. Mrs. Detro survives in their Marion home.

Kenneth had many hobbies including woodworking, boating, and he was an avid reader. He also enjoyed photography, theater, and movies. He was a very passionate person and poured his heart and soul into everything he did. Kenneth was an active and devoted member of the former Grace Methodist and Central Christian churches.

He is survived by three children, Sabra (Steve) Hastreiter, Van Buren; Terasa (Keith) Coker, Auburn; Dawn (John) Smith, Fairmount; two brothers, Franklin A. (Jeannette C.) Detro, Jonesboro; Robert E. (Phyllis) Detro, Marion; mother-in-law, Mamie Rickman, Marion; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11am until services on Monday in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana.

Funeral services will begin at 1pm on Monday, January 23, 2017 with Pastor James Sonnefield officiating.
