June R. Shaw, 89 of Huntington passed away in the comfort of her family at 9:34 am on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. June was a 1946 graduate of Chester Center High School in Southern Wells County. She was a homemaker and had worked at Memcor for 24 ½ years before retiring. She was a member of the Huntington County 4-H for many years where she was Grand Champion pie maker for 10 years and was a Boy Scout Den Mother for many years. June was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching Jeff Gordon. She loved crocheting, canning, cooking, baking, sewing and flower gardening.
She was born on December 10, 1926 in Huntington County, the daughter of Marion L. and Mary F. (Murray) Gephart.
She was united in marriage to Charles C. Shaw, Sr. in Bluffton on September 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2001.
Survivors include two sons: Charles (Cyndie) Shaw, Jr. of Huntington; Tom (Alice) Shaw, Sr. of Huntington; two brothers: James (Sherry) Gephart of Englewood, FL; Jerry Gephart of Bluffton; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Shaw, Sr.; her parents: Marion and Mary Fern Gephart, 8 brothers and sisters: Raymond Gephart, William Gephart, Robert Gephart, Richard Gephart, Ilene Chapman, Daniel Gephart, Elaine Gephart and Jesse Gephart.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and also on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm all at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Chaplain Forrest Tabor officiating.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
