On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 7:05 a.m., Joyce B. Hollenbeck received her eternal reward when she passed away in her Marion home. She was 71 years old.
Joyce was born in Marion on February 4, 1946, to Carl Edison and Neomi (Case) Philebaum. She loved to cook and bake, and it would be no surprise that she would serve the public for many years at Marion’s Southside Diner. Joyce also loved to crochet but, most of all, she loved her grandkids, and family was everything to her. She was a member of Brinker Heights Wesleyan Church.
She will be missed by five children, Orella “Cathy” (Richard) Anderson, Marion, Jerry L. Whiteman, Marion, Terry (Trina) Roberts, Richmond, Melissa (Scott) Hawkins, Marion, and Michael Hollenbeck, Flint, Michigan; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings, William (Jeanette) Rouse, Albion, Shirley Bartrum, Marion, and Wanita (Ron) Wade, Greensburg.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Martin Whiteman; grandson, Kristopher Crews; and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Joyce’s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Aldean Pablo officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
