Howard C. Wilson, 85, lifelong resident of Swayzee, IN, went to be with the Lord at 7:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Marion Rehab and Assisted Living. He was born in Swayzee to the late Oren and Gladys (Wright) Wilson. On April 29, 1951, Howard married Susan Matchette, and they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage together.
Howard was a graduate of Swayzee High School. He was a farmer and a Journeyman as a Tool & Die Maker at Fisher Body/General Motors for 40 years until his retirement in 1997. He was a Mason and 50-year member at Swayzee Lodge, as well as a member of both the Antique Tractor Club and Swayzee UMC.
Loved ones Howard leaves behind are his wife, Susan; children, Tom Wilson, Fairmount, Beth Jones, Marion, Brenda Buroker, Swayzee, Chris (Lennie) Wilson, Jasonville, and Steve (Lori) Wilson, Connersville; grandchildren, Amber (David) Amick, Sara (Aaron) Caudell, Bethany Massey, Jessica (Justin) Moore, Lauren Jones, Michelle (Jon) Bills, Layne (David) Blinn, Caroline Buroker, and Trevor Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Dawson, Abigail, Boston, Bristol, Quinn, Mason, Mia, Mark, Ben, Caiden, Keaton, Raigen, and Harrison.
In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his sister, Edith Smalley, and son-in-law, Brian Buroker.
Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Services to celebrate Howard’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Denney officiating. Burial will follow at Knox Chapel Cemetery, Point Isabel.
