Gloria Jean (Jarnigan) Spearman, 67, Peru. Born September 1, 1948 in Nettleton, Mississippi to the proud parents of Alberta Wilson and Cornelius Jarnigan. Gloria departed this life on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 to be with her lord.
Gloria accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church. Gloria worked at Schneider Electric (Square D) and retired after 31 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed watching Joel Osteen, having bible study with her daughter, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Loving family members who survive to cherish Gloria’s memory include her mother, Alberta Wilson; her husband, Billy G. Spearman Sr.; two children, Sharon Spearman (Donald) Sykes and Billy (Deborah) Spearman Jr.; three grandchildren, Shanecia Spearman, Quaniece Spearman, and Quantrell Spearman; one brother, Charles Jarnigan; and nine nieces and nephews, Keshia, Cornelia, Charles, Oko, Tina, Lisa, Wanda, Vivie, and Don, along with a host of cousins and relatives. Best friend, Annie Burnie.
She is preceded in death by her father, Cornelius Jarnigan; Step-Father, Richard Wilson, one brother, Arthur Jarnigan, and three sisters, Dorothy Sykes, Diane Wilson-Hatcher, and Joyce Ann Smiley.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday August 20, 2016 at Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor EJ Lacy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
