Frances J Pence, 93, Marion, died at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Wesleyan Health Care, Marion. She was born in Wabash, Indiana to the late Harry and Myrtle (Stouffer) Early. She married Dale N. Pence on January 1, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2006.
Frances was a graduate of Wabash High School. She was a homemaker and farming wife. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, traveling, and was an avid Euchre player. Frances was a member of the Three Arts Club, Eastern Star, and 20th Century Farm Club. She was a member of Swayzee Christian Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Frances loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Jane (Roger) Couch, Greenville, SC, Karen (Dan) Renbarger, Charleston, SC, and Dr. David (Sharon) Pence, Marion; grandchildren, Stephanie (Paul) Brandenburg, Stacia (Chris) Alyward, Michelle (Jason) McQueen, Lt. Colonel Matt (Tracy) Renbarger, Major Sean (Jennifer) Renbarger, Melissa (Brian) Higdon, and Megan (Seth) Snyder; great-grandchildren, Will and Kate Brandenburg, Isabel, Lillian, and Sierra Snyder, Jackson and Jacob Renbarger, and James Higdon; and step-great-grandson, Josh McQueen.
In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Early, Betty Phillips, and Richard Early.
Friends and family may call from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastors Nanci Rosinski and Becki Nunnanlly officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee.
