Evangeline “Van” Boren, 95 of Huntington passed away at 4:56 am on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Van had worked for over 20 years at the General Electric Plant on Broadway in Fort Wayne. She retired in 1980. She had also worked at Farsworth Electric in Fort Wayne, Coil Engineering in Markle and Model Engineering in Huntington. She was a member of the VFW Post 2689 Auxillary of Huntington and the Elex Club in Fort Wayne. She was a huge IU Basketball fan, she loved to bake and give away her cookies and peanut brittle.

Van was born on September 23, 1920 in Wells County, Indiana, the daughter of Ivan and Lucille (Harshner) Ormsby.

She was united in marriage to Wayne Colpetzer on June 26, 1937 in New Castle. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1944. She later married Charles Boren in June of 1968 in Huntington; he preceded her in death on September 18, 1992.

Survivors include a daughter: Barbara Ramsey of Fort Wayne; a brother: Duff Ormsby of Markle; a sister: Bonnie Story of Bristol, IN; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Revis and two sons: Richard Colpetzer and Robert Colpetzer; three sisters: Erma Wright, Vera Lunz, Betty Davis and two brothers: Clarence Ormsby, Marlowe Ormsby.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Servia, Indiana.
