Elizabeth “Imy” Imogene Gressley, 91, Huntington, IN passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 6:40 a.m. at The Heritage of Huntington, Huntington, IN.
Mrs. Gressley was born March 26, 1924, in Huntington, IN, to Herman and Mildred Hazel (Eltzroth) Eckert. Her parents preceded her in death. Imy married Warren Gressley on January 15, 1944. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2000.
Mrs. Gressley was a 1942 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality.
Surviving is three sons, Douglas (Sue) Gressley, Chesapeake, VA, Randy (Debbie) Gressley, Virginia Beach, VA, David Gressley, Chesapeake, VA; five daughters, Sharon Jamison, Joyce (David) Rethlake, Deborah Spencer, all of Huntington, IN, Terri (Carey) Horton, Suffolk, VA, and Becky (Chris) Waltz, Newport News, VA. Also surviving is two brothers, William Eckert, Sr., Fort Wayne, IN, Robert Eckert, Sr., Wolf Lake, IN; and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Gressley. Also surviving is 25 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Gressley; one brother, Herman Eckert, Jr.; two sisters, Charlotte Scheiber, Barbara Johnson; and one granddaughter.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Father Stephen Colchin presiding.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
