Delores E. “Dee” Hedrick passed away at 6:19 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. She was a 1946 graduate of Lancaster High School and a graduate of Warner Beauty School. Dee was a hairdresser for 35 years; she owned her own shop for 25 years in Huntington. She was a member of Central Christian Church and their Christian Women’s Fellowship. Dee was past president of the Counted Cross Stitch Club and was a counted cross stitch designer. She was a past president of The Huntington Hairdresser’s Association. She was a member of the RHO-ZATA-Chi Sorority.
Dee was born on March 29, 1928 in Blackford County, the daughter of Perry and Helen (Jenks) Macon.
She was united in marriage to Charles D. Hedrick on September 30, 1956 in Bluffton. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1986.
Survivors include three nephews: an adopted granddaughter Molly Irick of Huntington and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Macon; a sister: Valda Heinkel; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage of Huntington Chapel. Located at 1180 W. 500 N. Huntington IN, 46750
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Immediately following the visitation at the Heritage of Huntington Chapel with Pastor Chris Hayden officiating.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
