Delbert Arlan Beery, 69, of North Manchester passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:17 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Beery was born May 12, 1947 in Wabash County, Indiana, the son of the late Glen A. Beery and Maurine Brower Beery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Purdue University and graduated from Manchester University. Mr. Beery retired from farming and operating the Beery Family Apple Orchard, and was a member of the North Manchester First Brethren Church. He was a basketball fan and loved watching TV basketball and football. He was devoted to his special brother, Lynn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step son, Lee Ford. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Connie Beery, North Manchester, Indiana; sisters Joyce Beery Miles, Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and Lois Beery Fulmer, Waynesville, North Carolina; and brother Lynn Beery, Wabash, Indiana; and stepchildren Kelley Ford, Marion, Indiana and Jerome Ford, Fowlerton, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at First Brethren Church on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ron Burns will officiate. There will be visitation with friends and family at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the First Brethren Church Summer Camp Scholarship Fund in care of the First Brethren Church, 407 North Sycamore Street, North Manchester, Indiana 46962.
