Daisy K. Gay Ward, 79, Gas City, died at 12:06 a.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016, in Marion General Hospital. She was born in Hazard, KY, to the late James and Maggie (Napier) Bowling. She was married to her first husband, Charles D. Gay, who preceded her in death in 1995. Daisy then married James Ward on January 13, 2004, and he survives.

Daisy was a hard-working housewife who spent her life serving her family. She loved cooking and gardening, and she had countless friends with whom she enjoyed socializing. Daisy attended Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, James, survivors include daughters, Debbie (Tim) Corn, Gas City, Cathy Gay Pickle, Gas City, and Jill (Steve) Gay Dennis, Gas City; grandchildren, Abbie Corn, Zach Jenkins, and Colton Hodge; great-grandchildren, Chloe Jenkins and Kennedy Jenkins; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death was her brother, David Bowling.

Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Daisy’s life will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016, with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Cemetery, Upland.
