Clarence F. Myers, 93, of Warren, IN, formerly of Roanoke and Ft. Wayne, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Heritage Pointe in Warren.  He was born on Friday, February 2, 1923, in Ft. Wayne.  He married Lavona Jackson on Saturday, April 19, 1947 in Fort Wayne; she passed away on February 24, 2006. Together they shared 59 years of marriage to one another.

 

Clarence graduated in 1941 from Central High School in Ft. Wayne.  He served in the Army during World War II from 1943 – 1946, where he was stationed overseas in India and Burma.  Clarence graduated from the G.E. Apprentice School in 1947.  He retired from G.E. in Ft. Wayne in 1986 after working 44 1/2 years.  Clarence was a member of the G.E. Apprentice Alumni, the American Legion Roanoke Post #160, the China, Burma and India Theatre Veteran’s Association.  Clarence enjoyed playing pool while living at Heritage Pointe in his free time.  Friends and residents will remember Clarence fondly for his musical talents, both his harmonica playing and whistle accompaniments.

 

Loving survivors include: Daughter – Coleen (Robert) Midwood, Warren, IN, Daughter – Mavis (DeVon) Franklin, Kettering, OH, Son – Eric (Martha) Myers, San Antonio, TX, Son – Lloyd (Heidi) Myers, Fishers, IN, 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his: Father – Charles Myers, Mother – Lydia (Kimmel) Myers, Wife – Lavona Myers, Sisters – Ethel Saxton, Gladys Inwood, Thelma Mae Twigg, Goldy Kepfer, Nellie Fitzwater, Dorothy Lock, Mildred Park and Treva Winesburg, Brother – Melvin Myers and 1 Grandchild.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel 801 Huntington Ave. Warren on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  A service to celebrate Clarence’s life will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Gerald Moreland officiating. Huntington Co. Honor Guard will be conducting military honors.
