Christopher “Chris” Dilts

Christopher “Chris” Dilts, 57, Jonesboro, died unexpectedly at 6:10 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Grant County, Chris was born in Marion to William and Mary (Rodriguez) Dilts. He married Kamala “Kammy” Garrett in August of 1980, and she survives.

Chris was a graduate of Mississinewa High School. At the time of his passing, he worked as a satellite installer for Multiband and had been with the company for twelve years. He previously worked as a machine attendant for RCA in Marion for 28 years until its closure. Chris attended Grace Community Church and previously Holy Family Catholic Church.

Chris was an avid baseball fan, and he played with travel leagues for many years. He had also coached Little League baseball. He was a fan of the New England Patriots, and he liked watching games during football season. Chris was an extremely dedicated hard worker, and he never missed a chance to spend time with his cherished grandchildren.

He is survived by his parents, William (Mary) Dilts; wife of 37 years, Kammy; children, Chad, Chasity, Tressa, and Marc Dilts, all from Jonesboro; grandchildren, Deakon, Diezel, Jayln, and Makenna; four brothers, Bill, Rick (Sherri), Daniel, and Stephen Dilts; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 12-2 p.m. with Chris’ funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.  Pastor Mark Hummel will be officiating.
