Brenda Kay Stambaugh

Brenda Kay Stambaugh, 76, Russiaville, is now celebrating in Heaven on her late husband’s birthday.  She passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis at 3:02 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.  Brenda was born in Marion on June 9, 1941, to the late Doug and Mae Douglas, and she married Richard Stambaugh in 1965.  He preceded her in death in 1996.

Brenda was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and always put herself last.  She loved spoiling her grandchildren, especially the boys, and was famous for her mayonnaise cakes.  Brenda enjoyed gardening, embroidery, crossword puzzles, and reading.  She was a member of Eagles #227.

She is survived by her children, Carl Stambaugh, Marion, Corina (Rick) Butcher, Fairmount, and Brian (Larraine) Stambaugh, Russiaville; 25 grandchildren, Carl Cahill, Crystal Jo Stambaugh, Bobby Stambaugh, Jaimi Stambaugh, Rachel Shepperd, Kayleb Shepperd, Joshua Butcher, Brian and Brian Stambaugh, Kelly and Keith Tomlinson, Shon and Jennifer Bosworth, Stephanie and Joseph Tillery, Danielle and Adam Nelson, Richard and Tanya Stambaugh, Kayla Stahly, Tiffany and Jake Alexander, Justin Gilman, and Jacob and Katelynn Stambaugh; 35 great-grandchildren whom she carried so closely in her heart; sisters, Sandy Lusher, Warren, Judy Foudrey, Van Buren, Sheila Goodwin, Marion, and Sherri Vice, Marion; and her beloved dog, Mia.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Rude.

The family will have a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Knox Cemetery in Point Isabel.
