Betty Jean Sipe, 91, passed away at Aperion Care, Peru on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
Betty was born in Greensburg, on March 8, 1925 to Forrest and Gladys Graham. A World War II bride, Betty married Earl Sipe on October 1, 1943 who preceded her in death in 1991.
Betty is survived by sons Fred (Martha), Dennis (Kathy), Phillip (Pam), David (Jackie) Peru, and Jeff, Florida. She was grandmother to Denny, Deb Townsend, Ryan, Greg, Danny Carlson, Nina Lemon, Adam, Louis, Laura Berryman and 17 great grandchildren. One brother, Charles (Jeanne) Graham also survives.
One sister Wanda Wilson and one brother Bill Graham preceded her in death.
Betty was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, watching football, and socializing with family and friends. Betty retired from Scott’s IGA and Peru YMCA.
A funeral is scheduled for Betty at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peru with Kenneth Greenwald officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. till time of service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Everest Memorial Park.
