Betty Jane Harris, age 94, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born on December 27, 1921 in Huntington, Indiana to Ola (Frye) & Dellas Dungan. She was a 1939 graduate of Rock Creek Township High School. She married Merton Merld Harris on January 31, 1942 in Linn Grove Indiana. He died on September 12, 1988. She was a homemaker and also worked at Plum Tree Tomato Factory and also Triad Utrad for 13 years. Betty lived on the Dungan family farm until the time of her death.

Betty was a lifelong member of Plum Tree United Church of Christ and played the piano all those years. She was a faithful Christian and God blessed her with the love of music. She loved to sing with her brothers and sisters and passed this love of music onto her children. The Dungan reunion was never complete without everyone sitting around and singing with Betty joyfully leading the group.

Betty is survived by 3 daughters, Charlene (Les) Himelick of Liberty, In., Diana Harris of Huntington, In., Carolyn Harris of Pacific Grove, California, her grandchildren, Brett Buzzard of Warren In, Steve (Sara) Harris of Cincinnati OH., Angela Auer of Venice, Ca., Shawn (Jessica Martlage) Harris of Bloomington In, Joy Harris of Cincinnati, OH,.  Jennifer (Harlan) Wheeler of Brightwood, Oregon, Shane Himelick of Indianapolis, IN., Christy (Jason) Alexander of Liberty, In., great-grandchildren Joseph, Grace, and Anna Jane Harris, Britney, Brianna and Bryce Himelick, Tyler, Ryan, and Carson Alexander. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Dungan of Portage, Wisconsin, sister-in-law Mary Esther Dungan of Warren and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Steven M. Harris and daughter Joyce L. Buzzard, her siblings, Harold Dungan, Annabelle Highlen, Mary Randol, Alberta Sutton, Ruby Kreisher, Alice Allred, Charles Dungan.

Visitation will be Monday, March 7, 2016 from 4-8pm at Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren, In. and again on Tuesday, March 8 from 10-11am with services beginning at 11am with Pastor Jill Miller from Plum Tree UCC officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren Indiana.
