Betty Jane Endsley

Betty Jane Endsley, age 92, of Huntington, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Bill Rapp officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to the donor’s choice, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Betty was born on March 29, 1925 in Huntington County, the daughter of Arthur L. and Lucille (Jennings) Chenoweth. She graduated from Roanoke High School in 1943 and married Verne L. Endsley on May 19, 1946 in Huntington County; he preceded her in death on January 7, 2009. Betty was a homemaker and worked at Coil Engineering in Roanoke for seven years. She served on the Huntington County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for 30 years, acting as county secretary for 23 years and attending several Farm Bureau State Conventions. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Huntington County and as chairman of the Zion Ladies’ Aid in 1958, she was instrumental in establishing the first Harvest Supper, which continued for many years. She was involved with Jackson Township Home Economics for 30 years. She loved gardening, cross-stitch, and was an avid reader.

Surviving in Huntington are two sons – David Lee (Nita) Endsley and Michael Jay (Glenna) Endsley, a daughter – Kathleen Jane (Daniel) McCune, a brother – Arthur (Nancy) Chenoweth, ten grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Jennifer Campbell, and a great grandson, Maverick Shaffer, and a sister, Susie Settlemyer.
