Zemora A. “Sis” Bunch, 85, Muncie, went to be with the Lord at 11:57 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, November 21, 1938, to Earl LeRoy and Myrtle Dean (Morgan) Gotschall. She married John Franklin Bunch on April 21, 1957, and he survives.
Sis graduated from Marion High School and was a homemaker throughout her life. She faithfully served her husband and family. Spending time with them was one of her greatest joys in life. Sis loved the Lord and was a member of the Marion Church of the Brethren and a partner in The Jar Community Church. She also loved children and especially had a passion for teaching them about Jesus. Sis was also an accomplished artist who loved to paint, especially trees. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her daughter, Lisa Gail (Jerry) Smith; sons, Timothy Bunch and Chris (Jennifer) Bunch; grandson, Hunter Smith; granddaughters, Jordan Bunch and Shiloh Bunch; great-grandson, Wesley; great-granddaughter, Mazie; and brother-in-law, Phil (Ruthie) Bunch.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Huey Pratt and Phil Gotschall.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Marion Church of the Brethren, 2302 S. Geneva Ave., Marion, IN.
On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, a funeral (Sis wants it to be called a “FUN-eral”) service for Sis will take place at the church. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with an additional hour of visitation starting at 10:00 am. Because Sis loved sports, her family encourages you to NOT dress up but instead wear your favorite attire that is either Colts, Pacers or purple and gold for her beloved Marion Giants. Teaching Pastor Chuck Mock, from The Jar Community Church, will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
