William Donald “Bill” Switzer, 73, of Lagro, Indiana, died at 8:42 pm, Monday, March 2, 2020 at his home. He was born September 13, 1946 in Wabash, Indiana to Walter Glenn Switzer and Marjory (Kuffel) Watson.
Bill was a graduate of Wabash High School and a US Air Force veteran. He married Peggy (Brown) Coker in Wabash on November 8, 1986. Bill was a retired custodian for Metro North Elementary School. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and making people smile. He was also an animal lover.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Switzer of Lagro, five children, Kevin Switzer of Wabash, Jason (Catharine) Switzer of Haslet, Texas, Rebecca (David) Cassaday of Wabash, Melissa Fizer of South Bend, Indiana, and Johnny Miller of Georgia, 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his sister, Sandra Middleton of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steven Switzer, and two grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in the Marion National Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash.
