William D. "Bill" Hannis

William D. “Bill” Hannis, 60, of Marion, passed away at 7:39 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at his home. He was born in Marion on August 18, 1961, to James and Inez (Ferguson) Hannis. On September 26, 2008, he married Kelly Reynolds, and she survives.

Bill graduated from Marion High School in 1980. He served in the United States Marines, achieved the rank of PFC, and was honorably discharged.

Bill had worked at Gen Corp for 17 years and was currently employed as an assembler and safety team leader since 2005 with WalMart in Marion.

Bill attended church and bible study faithfully. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going for car rides. Bill was a collector of comic books and coins. Spending time with family was important to Bill and he will be missed dearly by those closest to him.

In addition to his loving wife, Kelly, survivors include his daughters, Rachel Mae (Kyle) Wells of Gas City, Inez Mae (Brooks) Davis of Marion, and Joscelyn Bounds of Marion; son, Edward Reynolds of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Kyla Mae, Brogan Allen William, Clayten, Brenna, Briar, Brawley, and one on the way; brother, Brian (Sharyl) Kanedy; niece, Jodi  Rollins; nephews, James  Hannis, Justin  Hannis, and Tyron Flowers; special cousin, William Reel; and friends, Clayton Withrow, Dave Gunner, and Greg Sheward.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, James Hannis; mother, Inez Mae Hannis; brother, James Hannis, Jr.; and sister, Karene Hannis Castro.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Bill’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
