William “Bill” P. Musick

William “Bill” P. Musick, 100, of Greentown, passed away at 6:43 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Century Fields Retirement Community in Greentown. He was born in Marion on February 20, 1922, to William and Bessie (Farmer) Musick. In 1947, he married Esther L. Huffman, and she preceded him in death in 2005. 

Bill served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He achieved the rank of Ship Fitter 3rd Class and was honorably discharged. Following his military service, Bill worked as a supervisor and die machine maintenance worker for several years with St. Regis Paper Company until his retirement. 

Bill attended Hillside Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed bowling and fishing, and he was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. 

Survivors include his sons, Larry Allen (Diana) Musick of Lafayette and Michael Lee (Catherine) Musick of Grayslake, IL; grandchildren, Chad Aaron (Rebecca) Musick, Brett Allen (Sara) Musick, Sarah Taylor Musick, and Zachary Michael Musick; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Claire, and Alana; plus several nieces, nephews, and friends. 

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis Musick and James Musick; sisters, Margaret Holloway, Jeannie Losure, Pauline Hartley, Vivian Burgoon, Viola Richey, Ruby Stingley, and Martha Clem; and his companion, Emma Holt. 

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. 

A funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the funeral home. Kim Holloway will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
