William (Bill) Duane Preston

William (Bill) Duane Preston, 77, of Warren, IN, formerly of rural Wabash, passed away on January 23, 2019 at Heritage Pointe in Warren. Bill was born in Huntington County, IN on June 29, 1941 to William Lester Preston and Nova (Day) Preston. Bill married Carol Sue Lloyd on December 12, 1998 in Warren. Survivors include Bill’s wife Carol, 5 children; Matt (Laura) Preston of Green Bay, WI, David (Katie) Preston of Anderson, IN, Sarah Oliver of LaFontaine, IN, Susan (Jason) Worster of Warren, IN, and Steven (Carol) Nose of LaFontaine, IN, 15 grandchildren, 2 brothers Richard (Regina) Preston of Pickerington, OH, Bruce (Noreen) Preston of Warren, IN and 1 sister Mary Ann (Steve) Holmes of Warren, IN. Survivors also include Bill’s special first cousins, Diane Vickrey Winkler of Warren, IN, Nancy Vickrey Trout of Kokomo, IN, John Vickrey of Warren, IN, Mark Vickrey of Warren, IN, and Norene Vickrey Blair (deceased).

Bill was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ in Wabash, IN. He achieved his Master’s degree from Purdue University. Bill was a member of the John Purdue Club, Pi Kappa Alpha (Purdue), Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge #333, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, National Rifle Association, U.S. Golf Association, Indiana High School Coaches Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Southwood High School Football Coach for 50 years.

Calling hours will be on January 28, 2019 from 2pm – 8pm at Heritage Pointe – Applegate Chapel 801 Huntington Ave, Warren. There will also be calling hours on January 29, 2019 at 10am with the funeral service following at 11am at Heritage Pointe – Applegate Chapel. Officiating the service will be Brad Wright and Tony Thomas. Burial will follow in the Sparks Cemetery, Wells County, IN.

Arrangements are being handled by Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
