William “Bill” Arthur Ross

William “Bill” Arthur Ross, 85, Greentown, entered into eternal rest at his home at 12:17 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018. He was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, on October 11, 1932, to the late Clarence Ross and Sarah Elizabeth (Harris) Speicher. He was raised by Gilbert and Sara Elizabeth Speicher. On April 9, 1955, in Marion, William married Juanita (Moore) Ross, and she preceded him in death on October 18, 1993.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1950-1953, and he retired from Chrysler Transmission, Kokomo, where he worked in Dept. 84 (15 years), Dept. 82 (5 years), and Dept. 25 (13 years). He enjoyed woodworking and playing his guitar. Bill was a member of UAW 685 and Greentown Family Christian Church, where he mowed the church lawn and had painted most of the church at one time or another.

He is survived by his son, William “Bill” (Shannan) Ross; granddaughter, Amy (Ernie) Parkin; great-grandchildren, Sydra Ross and Francis Parkin; his sister and step-sister; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and wife. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with Bill’s funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
