Wanda June Alderson, 83, Marion, passed away at 4:11 pm on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. She was born in New Castle on Wednesday, June 2, 1937, to Albert and Cloa (Masiongale) Luellen.
Wanda was a graduate of New Castle High School. She married Avery Alderson and faithfully served her husband and family throughout her life. Wanda was a real sports fan, who sang “Go Cubs, Go” when they won! She bowled for years and enjoyed all forms of racing. She also enjoyed watching ghost stories on TV.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey (Laurie) Alderson of Marion and Michael (Donna) Alderson of Marion; grandsons, Tyler (Abby) Hewitt of Noblesville and Devin Axton of Jacksonville, NC; granddaughter, Michelle Rife of Marion; and her dog, Roscoe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Alderson; parents; brothers, Carroll Luellen, Albert “Speedy” Luellen, Donald Luellen, Walter “Buddy” Luellen, Harold Luellen, and Richard Luellen; and daughter-in-law, Judy Alderson.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Wanda’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
